PHOTO TOUR: 13 things to do in the Grand Canyon of the South

Here’s your Friday getaway:

Breaks Interstate Park, VA

Drive time from Nashville: 6 hours

This trip is perfect for travelers:

love disconnecting from life and heading into the mountains.

Hidden away in the heart of Appalachia in Southwest Virginia is a park managed by two states (Kentucky and Virginia). They brought us in for a visit to experience what a few days on site would be like. Don’t be fooled (like we were) by the name, the Breaks Interstate Park:

  • is NOT a park located on the side of the interstate.

  • is NOT a refurbished rest stop just off the highway.

Known as the Grand Canyon of the South, VA
