Sometimes you don’t need an extended weekend trip. Sometimes you just want to get in your car and feel like you’ve been taken to a whole new part of the world, in a matter of hours.
Sewanee was a town recommended to us by one of our Weekend Trips from Nashville group members. She told us that you will feel like you’re walking somewhere in the northeast on an Ivy League college campus when you explore the tiny town.
In part, that’s because Sewanee is the home to University of the South a private liberal college atop the Cumberland Plateau with iconic architecture.
Like the The Village of Sewanee but want MORE to do, add a stop here.
Are there other things to do in Sewanee?
Hike an easy trail in the South Cumberland State Park to see a natural site: Sewanee’s Natural Bridge.
Have a quaint lunch at a local hangout, The Blue Chair.
If chilling with live music in the park makes you happy, then time your visit for one Friday this summer!
